How do I get an additional and identical fan for the M9?
The fan of the M9 is not ready for separate purchase yet. The additional fanclips support standard the 92mm by 26mm square fan so you can still go for the same size fan from other brands. However, if you do insist on going with the same fan with M9 and willing to pay international shipping for this, you can write in to support@cryorig.com. Our support team will help you out.
I’m using the M9 on an ITX motherboard, but having issues installing the M9 as the backplate seems to be blocked on the back of my motherboard by some components or soldering pins. Any solutions?
Yes, we’ve developed the alternative kits which replace the need of the backplate for a backplate-less installation. The washer system works with your existing mounting kit so there will be no interference with any component on the back your mainboard. To apply for the ITX Washer kit, just write in to support@cryorig.com and include: registration code of your product, full mailing address including name and phone number. CRYORIG’s support team will contact you later for verification.
When I install the Backplate onto my mainboard, I notice that the Backplate and Screw Pillars are hanging lose from the mainboard and it is impossible to screw the Screw Pillars all the way down, is this right?
Just like how we mentioned on the Installation Guide, the Screw Pillars are meant to hang and not contact the mainboard. This is actually part of Intel’s and AMD’s design guideline for CPU heatsinks. By leaving space, allows the C1 and the Backplate to sandwich and apply even pressure to the top of the CPU and the back of the socket. This means that the Backplate is correctly doing its job in providing pressure and support for the mainboard, and preventing it from bending. Actually if it were the four Screw Pillars touching and clamping onto the mainboard, then the heatsink would actually be pulling on the mainboard on four individual points rather than a plane. This actually is counterproductive, and not actually putting the backplate to use.
Can I use other fans on the C1? What types of fans are supported?
Yes, with the provided screws, users are able to put a standard 120mm square fan or 140mm round fan.
When installing my C1, I am having difficulties to screw on the spring screws onto the mounting bar, any tips?
When placing the C1 onto the CPU, first make sure that the spring screws are in fact inserted into the elevated screw holes on the mounting bar. Next, when sliding down the screw driver place the screw driver into the mounting hole. Slightly tilt the head of the screw driver towards the back of the heatsink if you’re having problems locating the spring screw head.
When I try to screw on the Spring Screws, I find it difficult to screw the other side once I'm finished with the first. What am I doing wrong?
When screwing the Spring Screws please screw in 1/3rd’s at a time then alternate between both sides. Totally screwing in one side directly may cause harm to the spring screws and make it difficult to screw the heatsink properly.
How tight should I screw in the spring screws on the mounting kit?
When screwing in the spring screws continue until you feel a clear stop, and do not go any further. Minimum force should be needed when installing your CRYORIG heatsink.
When installing the H7, I find out the backplate of my H7 does not have the "B" hole drilled for the socket 1151 installation. Why is that?
The backplate of your H7 is actually a new version. Just set the screws to "C" position and it will fit the LGA 1151 motherboard. We made this change because that enhances the stability of the screws and the holes fit the screws more snugly while the installation.
Can I use other fans on the H7? What types of fans are supported?
Yes, you can use fans from other brands on the H7. The supported dimension is: 120mm by 26mm square fans.
Can I put my H7 on a LGA 775/2011/2011-3 platform?
Mechanically, the H7 does not support socket LGA 775/2011/2011-3 due to its mounting system. Although we can provide the R1’s MultiSeg Mounting for the H7 that makes the H7 be compatible with LGA 775 and 2011(v3), the chances are the price of the H7 plus the MultiSeg Mounting will be more expansive than the H5 which already has 775/2011(v3) support. So unless there is a space limitation issue, otherwise we’d suggest you go with other products which originally support the mentioned sockets. But if you do insist on going with the H7+ MultiSeg and willing to pay for this, you can write in to support@cryorig.com. Our support team will resolve your issue.
